Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Soto has done a lot of running and I'd get Taylor in for him at this point.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago What’s going on. Are we playing the Mets? Johnny Lunchbucket 1
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Semien hits two balls hard and has nothing to show for it. Then he dribbles a swinging bunt for a single. Bringing up Ewing with the bases juiced.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Ewing has better plate discipline than any Met not named Soto. Takes the walk for another RBI. MFS62 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Ewing twice with a 3-1 count, twice gets a sweet inside fastball, and twice spits on it, saying "Fuck it, Imma make him throw two strikes."
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Wilford Brimley, leaning into his experience as the manager from The Natural, takes the mound.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago With Brimley on the mound, the ump is all, "OK, I'm free to stink and I'm going to take advantage of it."
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Tonight, AJ Ewing has passed Tyrone Taylor, Luis Torrens, Ronny Mauricio, Jared Young, Austin Slater, Tommy Pham, Andy Ibanez and Vidal Brujan in 2026 walks.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Pretty good game so far. I like this Ewing kid.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I didn't realize that while the Tigers were changing pitchers that Eric Gregg also came in as a replacement for the starting HP ump.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago First time I can remember having fun watching the game in a while. Needed that one!
duan Old-Timey Member Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The thing about the umpire not giving ball 4 with the position player pitching is that he wasn't calling borderline pitches strikes in the 9th to 'get it over with', so the mets could have ended up needing to use an extra pitcher which is exactly what the Tigers avoided by throwing yer man in. AJ Ewing was fun.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 58 minutes ago, ashie62 said: I thought of Dykstra Both measure in at 5'10", 160. (The pre-juice version of Lenny, anyhow.) Both are fast, white, lefty-batting centerfielders with a tight stance and a good eye. Both stole a million bases in the minors. I'm surprised (and relieved, I guess) that the comparison isn't everywhere. Dykstra was twitchy and explosive in the box, while this guy seems cool as a cucumber. And this guy doesn't have an oil leak pouring out of his mouth.

The only thing left is to sell beer and hot dogs between innings. And after the game, he cleaned the restrooms and swept out the lower deck. Later
