Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Warning-track fly from Ewing in plate appearance #2. Not a good omen.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Both NYM failed ABS challenges today were stupid. and yet both batters wound up reaching base anyway (BB & 2B) which kind of makes it even worse..
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I'll take that walk and double anyhow. Also, wearing down the starter and chasing him early in Game #1 of a series is, like, the third commandment of Edgyball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I thought Keef got under the tag and was safe at home.

metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Gotta get that tag down by the feet. Make them go through the tag to get to the base. Tagging up gets you to hit their body, sure, but risks giving up the run. He had his glove in the right spot, but then picked it up out of the way

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I wonder what Dillon Dingler's porn name is.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago It's a shame that was likely Peralta's last inning, because it was clearly his best.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago A lot of strikeouts looking by tonight's Mets lineup.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Steal your way out of the double-play, AJ. The Hot Corner 1
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Ewing appears to have a better approach at the plate than the majority of the Mets hitters. Good speed too.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Just now, Edgy MD said: Steal your way out of the double-play, AJ. Hurry, tell Alvarez to drive him in with a dingle to RCF.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Okay, tell Torrens to drive him in with a single to RF.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I was kind of feeling like sending Ewing on that hit to McKinstry.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Wait, that kind of play* worked FOR us?!?!?!?!!! * two runs instead of two outs The Hot Corner 1
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Tigers looking a lot like the Mets in Arizona. Less frustrating when it is the other team.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Hopefully Ewing gets to bat against the lefty if he comes up here.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago How often do you see a triple through the hole?
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago RBI triple by Ewing. Small sample size, but the kid looks legit.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Just now, The Hot Corner said: RBI triple by Ewing. Small sample size, but the kid looks legit. Right? Swing looks nice. A lot better than Benge.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Ewing going to have a good night after the game is over too because, as we all know, chicks dig the stand-up triple.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Just now, Edgy MD said: How often do you see a triple through the hole? A ground ball through the hole that goes to the wall. They must have been playing him to go opposite field.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Ewing is having a great MLB debut. A walk, a triple, an RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored. The only thing left is to sell beer and hot dogs between innings.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Say what you want, Gary. I remember Johneshwy and Kahlil in the same game. The Mets had a cascade of injuries to their hitters — particularly their outfielders — and were so desperate that they had James McCann at first and Tomas Nido at catcher in order to improve their offense, and they were batting those two guys third and fourth. They eventually added a previously obscure outfielder named Billy McSkinney — who became the Mets' bets hitter for a few weeks until guys started returning from injuries.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Twice a week when the Mets are winning it's awesome
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Props to Raley for ending the previous inning when he did. If that final batter of the 7th had gotten on then Riley Greene comes up as the tying run. Instead, Greene leads off the 8th with bases empty and a larger deficit, and we don't need Weaver or Williams to finish up this one.
