Met fans, it's time you got to meet a fella named Vidal Bruján.  He switch-hits, throws fits, and starts when some poor lefty sits.

FUN VIDAL BRUJÁN FACT: VB is one of only three Vidals in MLB history, following Vidal Nuño (SEA, NYY, ARI, 2013-2018) and Vidal Richardson (1946), who got 10 trips to the plate for the 1946 Cleveland Buckeyes in the Negro American League, which is now recognized as Major League play, but Richardson probably didn't know it at the time.

Vidal Sassoon had trouble with breaking pitches and flamed out in AA.

Nine pitches through the first (with two strikeouts) for Goodman Christian Scott.

He may be ... good!

And Austin Slater is now hitting .400 as a Met.  That's probably part of why they want to pinch-hit him for Melendez against lefties in high-leverage situations.

You, tuning in just now, are tuning into a team with a 2-0 lead, thanks to a rally generated by perennial All-Stars Austin Slater, Andy Ibañez, and Tyrone Taylor.

Vidal Bruján hasn't even gotten up!

Not plating Soto after a one-out trip remains the sword of Damocles hanging over the Mets today.

Scott's doing terrific, but the outs are getting harder as the team progresses.

Scott has a very good 4-seam fastball up in the zone.  The sweeper is effective against RH hitter when it is down in the zone.  He needs a pitch to go with his fastball against LH hitters, the sweeper is too flat.  He needs to use his cutter on the hands of lefties or develop a reliable change up..

I mean, Scott was almost tongmcleanesque with our excitement in 2024. Dude came in very hot, then got hurt, unfortunately.

He got called up last minute, was a little jumpy, and couldn't throw strikes the first time out. He's still a work in progress, but he's definitely something.

Keith was sailing on the same tack.

Damn, I hoped he could finish.

Nothing wrong with one-run ball in Colorado, but he was behind everybody that inning.

call me worried about Brabazon keeping this lead.

Plenty of game to play. No matter who is on the mound, "Let's just shut them down from here" is never a very strong strategy in the sixth at Coors.

Unfortunately, prophetic.

Brazoban again proving the adage that walks kill.

I'm getting all your posts in gold frames with stars.

I thought this was because I "followed" you or something, but it appears that this is how your posts are featured because you "won the day" yesterday, getting the most positive reactions to your posts.

It may be because I paid to remove the ads on the site this morning.  It worked immediately.  Considering I paid roughly 6 times the discounted rate Brock extended to us old timers tpo have MLB for the Mets games it was a great deal.  I am still stuck with adds on MLB.

I haven't watched enough this season, but it seems that the at bats are given away way to cheaply.

by the way, until i saw him for the mets, if you'd asked me I'd have sworn that Craig Kimbrel was a lefty.
