ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Anybody know how long until Francisco Alvarez hits free agency? Thank you
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 The Mets really need to cash in some runs here with second and third with no outs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Wow, under standard positioning, Benge's two-run single is an easy soft liner to second.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I have been all in on Carson Benge from the get go
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Woo Hoo. Benge with the 2 RBI hit with RISP.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Alvarez is never going to break that GiDP record that way.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Gelbs is becoming the hot dog guru. I like him doing this
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Keith almost looked sick watching Gelbs with the 2 foot hot dog. Then somehow Gelbs got Keith to take a bite on the opposite end like Lady and the Tramp.. Keith kept looking down like he wanted to find a trash can so he could spit it out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Win a Lady and the Tramp Meal with Keith would be a heckuva fundraiser raffle contest.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Wow. Torrens whiffs on a pop up in foul ground.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Just now, Centerfield said: Why are we pinch running here? Outfielding is at a premium in Coors, and a game can turn around quickly motivating Mendoza to get his defense out there early. Getting Taylor out there possibly improves two positions, but is a big upgrade in right.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7 Posted May 7 One downside is the paucity of great options — Brujan? Slater? Ibáñez? — to sub for Soto later in the game.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I mean. We could give the one guy who’s hitting two more ABs. But wtf do I know.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 > 2-1/2 hours just to get thru 5 innings ... and although that's a lot quicker than it would be for the pre-speed-up rules, this one is not exactly sailing along, especially for a low scoring game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Alvarez manages to avoid hitting into a GiDP in a potential GiDP situation!!! Edgy MD 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Gary's testimony notwithstanding, I can get behind Leiper's stop sign there.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 At first I thought Tim Lieper was gunshy after that pirates game. I now think he’s just not a very good 3B coach.

The LF was getting rid of the ball about the time Benge was reaching 3rd. Now it was lousy throw but, of course, you don't know that at the time ... and now he winds up scoring anyway!!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Except that the LF is much deeper in Coors than regular ballparks. I guess it doesn’t matter. This is the first laugher I can remember watching in a while.
