I would really like to see McLean get through 6 strong innings.  I just hope the offense will give him some support.

I expect McLean to be good.  The offense, not so much.

The worst outfield the Mets have ever put in a starting lineup? Perhaps.

If they collectively get 2 hits and drive in a run they will have been more successful than what we have been running out there any game Soto isn't in LF.

I like that, if you are a Spanish speaker, and you are going to see the Angels, you tell people you are going to see, "Los Los Angeles Angeles."

Torrens should be in the lineup tonight.  It's his birthday, and he just got paid.

Put him at first, Viento at third, and Bichette at short.  Mauricio against lefties is a less-than-helpful deployment.

Mets going to the pen crazy-early.

McLean in innings 1 & 4: 7 total baserunners, 3 runs, 6 hits, 1 BB, 1 WP, while going six up/six down in Innings 2 & 3

Maybe it's just my imagination but he seems to 'bunch' his baserunners so that he/the team give up an above average percentage of runs out of the small number of runners he allows. Tonight's game will push his season ERA to right around 3.00 with a WHIP at still under 1.0

Semien has to learn from firstbasemen and keep his opposite foot on the bag.

I suspect that's from how a 2B normally sets-up for a DP turn: left foot on base so as to not get jostled by a sliding runner. The problem there was the throw.

And since nobody else brought it up, I will: the Mets failure to challenge the first LAA run scored is a direct result of relying on your eye-in-the-sky to decide on challenge or not rather than on an instant reaction from someone on the bench. Clearly that run doesn't count if a challenge was issued.

There was never going to be a double-play.

Like there is now, with Alvarez up.

I always admired this early sixties Angels hat with the embroidered halo.

It never really worked at all, but I appreciated the distinctive approach.  So few teams take advantage of the real estate on top of the head in designing their look.

They could've burned one fewer bench player by having Andy Ibáñez come in and play third, but I suppose they only want him in there against lefties.
