I'm a glutton for punishment, so I'm back to watch this miserable mess again in game two.

Hottie how are you watching this? Just curious

Well, the Rox figured out how to turn two singles and a walk into a run.   The Mets, OTOH, failed twice in the opening game to turn three runners within one inning into a run [BB, BB, 1B & 1B, 1B, BB]

So have I

It would be negligent for the Mets not to make big changes now

Mendoza sounded like he's about had it in the game 1 postgame

FIRE BOY GENUIS!!! He is THE problem. Mendoza is Stearns sacrificial person. Cohen save the team and realize this guy was a mistake maybe understandable but a mistake.

MLB one team subscription for the year.  I need to be more judicious in my expenditures now that I am retired.

Yeah I know that feeling!

You have to fire Mendoza if they’re swept by the Rockies at home.

I wasn't on Team Fire Mendoza. But if they get swept by the Rockies and score just one run in a doubleheader, I think they have to pull that trigger.

I don't know if Beltran is a serious option, but they sure need something.

At least Edward's is doing a nice job in relief.  He has a wicked old school curve.  Too bad that game is essentially out of reach with the Rockies leading 3-0.  Since the Mets have scored 2 or fewer runs in 13 of 27 games thus far, the likelihood of them coming back yo win this one is roughly 10% by my guesstimation.

Men on 1st & 2nd with no outs.  The Mets avoid the GIDP by lining into  DP right at the first baseman playing behind the runner.

If it weren't, friends for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.  Gloom, despair  and agony on me.

Yeah, hits! Is a new manager going to wake up sleeping wood?

In 27 games (#28 is in progress) they've scored two or fewer runs 13 times; three or fewer in 17; four or fewer in 20. Keep in mind that 4.5/G is around average. Any of that changing by booting Mendoza or is this just demanding bloodlust whether it accomplishes something or not?

They're even challenging stupid today.

Now, this could come down to a 9th inning situation and if the Mets wind up the victim of an Eric Gregg strike (a pitch in the LF batter's box to a RH batter) they'll have no recourse.

I’ve said it before. Getting the most of the talent you have on your roster is a big part of the managers job. Whether it’s getting guys to believe in themselves or whether it’s finding a way to motivate/play loose. Most managers are net neutral. They’re just there. And the team is what it is.

A select few managers get more. Dusty, Bruce Bochy, Terry Francona. They win wherever they go. They’re outliers that get the most from their guys.

Then there are the net negatives. Unfortunately at this point it’s clear Mendoza has no clue how to get anything from his teams. Even his miracle run was an 89 win season where they won the third WC by tiebreaker.

You can’t let him steer the ship any longer.

I simply don't understand how anyone would support Mendoza at this point

It's not about blaming him so much as do you hold him responsible and accountable for Mets failures as a team. Is the team ready to play everyday? I don't think Mendoza passes the smell taste here

You seem to think this team and probably the coaching staff that he's been given are much better than I do. Mendoza is not ,in my opinion, the problem. This team is just not that good. I would have no problem if they want to fire Mendoza but if Genius Boy doesn't go out the door with him that would be an injustice. But that's the way it usually goes. The guy who constructed the team gets to fire the manager who is the insulation for his own mismanagement.

This team is not that good(thanks to Boy Genius). Mendoza may not be that great but the problem is more in the construction and talent Boy Genius has assembled.
