Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Man, I wish I would have reached out when I found this place last year. I could have preserved that site. whippoorwill 1

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 Still nothing. Still says May 31. Centerfield 1

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 I sent a message in April to the admin's personal email address, and never got a reply. I definitely gave the site to the wrong people. Unfortunate, but the shadow site that I've kept alive will remain indefinitely. Eliminating box scores, transactions, and minor league stats, and no longer keeping track of the movements of former Mets players who are still active, means that it's taking up very little of my time. But I really would have liked to have been able to pass the torch and let someone else take over. I suppose I can still do that, but the UMDB name appears to be unrecoverable.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Sue them for breach of contract. Something about goodwill or good faith or something. I think that's a thing. whippoorwill 1
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 Nah. But I would definitely consider making the code and the data available to another interested party.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Call the relaunched classic "The All-Time Mets Database" and laugh at those fools all the the way to the bank.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 29 Posted July 29 And tell them you'll take yours down whenever they get around to putting theirs up.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Respectfully, if you can keep a version of yours up in some form, even in sparsely updated, I think that would be for the best. It's still one of the best Mets resources out there. whippoorwill 1
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 The May 31 message has been replaced by this: MFS62 1
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I'm gonna have a boatload of time during the lockout, I will put more thought into whether I have the capacity to do something with this. MFS62 1
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 The new guys have the ownership of Ultimate Mets Database, and that's okay. But they're apparently planning to discard most, if not all, of the content I provided to them. If you decide that you want to take on the actual UMDB data and present it under a new name, we can certainly discuss whenever it's convenient for you. Brock Beauchamp and seawolf17 1 1
whippoorwill Old-Timey Member Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Yes please; that was an incredible site
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted October 13 Posted October 13 From the ashes of the UMDB, you're getting an early look at a reconstructed all-time numerical roster. It needs a lot of small repairs including all the data from 2026 when I stopped updating it. One cool feature is the Numerical roster button, which if it works right can show you the Mets roster on any given day ever. https://www.mbtn.net/?page_id=3212 MFS62 and whippoorwill 2
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 I'm glad you were able to get that page up. I'm sorry I pulled the rug out from under you last year! Did you ever meet with the new guy at the UMDB? I remember introducing you.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted October 13 Posted October 13 we just exchanged an intro email and nothing after
