Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Starter as yet undecided. Astros will be starting Jason Alexander, who has since moved on from his role on Seinfeld. Watch it on SNY. Discuss.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I have a 1 pm appointment with our accountant to discuss our tax return. I will DVR it, however.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I typically work in the office on Tuesdays but this week I'm home for an AM service call, so I will be able to put this on while I work (though I'll also be an hour behind since I nap from 1-2 most workdays).
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I’m sure there’s some reason for it but I wonder why SNY doesnt broadcast every spring training game. I’d certainly watch more than any other programming they have.

I’d certainly watch more than any other programming they have. I understand this to strictly be a money thing. Costs a lot to broadcast the games for a lower return (preseason game on a Tuesday afternoon is not going to have a big audience).
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 Christian Pache's worth watching. He's 3-for-5 so far with a homer, a RBI and a 1.800 OPS and is just about the team's best hitter so far this young spring.

Costs a lot to broadcast the games for a lower return (preseason game on a Tuesday afternoon is not going to have a big audience). Makes sense. And I get that they want to maintain a certain level of production. But if they had Steve Gelbs out there with his Iphone and providing play by play, I'd probably watch that over whatever else they're playing at the time.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 Jack Wenninger started for the Mets. Mike Tauchman (a three-run blast!) and Ronnie Mauricio both have hit home runs and the Mets are up 4-0.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 Alexander's spring training ERA is now 54.00. Mets scored again, up 5-0!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Daniel Duarte and Josh Blum (up from Brooklyn) have given it all back and we're tied at six in the ninth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 24 Posted February 24 They consider the 10th and reject it, instead deciding to send all of the fans home — if not happy, then less-than-perfectly miserable.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 Decent showing by the young 'un Wenninger.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Bleh. Nice to see a Tauchman HR. I think he'll be a useful addition.I know most of the pitchers today will never see the najor league roster, but jeez, those walks. It was like a horrifying replay of the second half of 2025.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 13 walks! Didn't even see that.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Walks for and against are definitely something to watch for.
