Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago It "ended its website"? whippoorwill 1
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Website was off-line , but now back up
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago https://www.sny.tv/ Can't say I regularly visit this site and can't remember last time I did , but it looks very bare bones
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I wonder if we'll still get SNY stuff on Facebook? Later
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago They will probably make a deal with DAZN, they are the Euro sports streamer that now has Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, Devils, Islanders. There's no reason for SNY to exist other than to broadcast Met games.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Right, what is there to watch if not the games ? DAZN are huge ,.especially in world football. Wilpon is on a sinking ship
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Quote A source said “Baseball Night in New York” host Sal Licata and main “Sportsnite” host Eamon McAnaney were among those let go. The source added that in SNY’s view the website will be more similar to the websites for YES and MSG Network. “The website is pivoting from a content-driven site to a promotional and informational platform,” the source said. SNY issued a statement about the changes: “As part of our regular review of our business, operations and programming, SNY has decided to cease broadcasting Baseball Night in New York and SportsNite. We are grateful to those team members that helped bring these programs to fans for many years. Ongoing coverage of the Mets and New York sports are at the heart of SNY’s business, and we remain focused on continuing to deliver high-quality content to our passionate fans.” Mets Hot Stove will survive. It's really the only thing I watch on SNY, so I guess I'm happy about that.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago My Google news feed had a link to an SNY article by Danny Abriano, posted just five hours ago. "5 questions Mets' David Stearns should answer at 2026 MLB GM Meetings". But the link is already broken. Bad news for Danny Abriano, I assume. That article, whatever it said, had a short shelf life.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I have been using DAZN for Islanders this year. So far so good. I'm in a weird spot where I get those games for free because I still pay for cable; without it I'd have to pay more to Verizon since they this year put the different MSG channels on different pay tiers, basically daring people like me to cut the cord
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 1 hour ago, Johnny Lunchbucket said: There's no reason for SNY to exist other than to broadcast Met games. Once all the bundled but regional sports cable channels started going down one by one, the independent ones like SNY, MSG, YES were bound to start feeling the pinch too. Some of those teams who jumped of the regional channel bus recently (Braves & Reds that I know of) wound up forming their own channels [literally Braves.TV and Reds.TV] but those outlets broadcast pre-game / game / post-game, and then go dark for the remaining 19-ish hours/day as well as for essentially the entire winter. iow, they literally exist only to broadcast the game itself. Those other shows that often surround non-game time -- like the ones SNY is dropping -- are almost certainly losing money which is why they're being drop-kicked. So these 'single-use channels make a deal for an out-of-the-way, inexpensive slot on your cable/streaming pkg and are trying to make a go of it with just the games themselves plus the short intro & outro.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago It's like the MLB Extra Innings channels. When there's not a game on, the channel just displays a schedule.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The best days were the early ones where they had the Midtown studio that overlooked 6th Ave. It was obvious they were always on a budget but they at least tried to create programming that wasn't 2nd rate WFAN guys yelling at each other. LOL, they tried anyway Centerfield and metirish 2

Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I like SNY’s “Mets Pod” podcast. I wonder how far these cuts extend.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Oh man. This is terrible news. Makes you wonder about the future of local sports TV in general.
