It's pretty great when a guy lasts long enough in baseball that, to the kids watching him at the end of his career, his name first name has become impossibly anachronistic.

And also... By 1980 every parent should have known better than to name their child Gaylord. I bet those last remaining holdouts had last names like "Crotchfelt".
