Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Reminds me of someone. When I first saw him he looked very familiar, but I realized I must be thinking of someone else. Another black player, tall and lanky, with a round baby face. Someone else with the initials T.T. that wasn't that good overall, but found a way to get big hits against the Mets. After some searching, I realized it was Michael A. Taylor. Not a TT at all. I'm getting old. Anyway, while I was there, I took a nice trip down memory lane. I counted five Mets with the initials T.T. I would never have gotten this without looking it up. I'll bet you guys can do it. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Two are easy. One is guessable. Two are hard.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 TT Mets (alphabetically) 1. 2. 3. Tyrone Taylor 4. 5.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 Easy ones are off the board. 1. 2. 3. Tyrone Taylor 4. 5. Tim Teufel
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Well Frayed Knot and Ben Grimm beat me to the punch and got the two I thought of. The only other player that comes to mind with those initials is Tony Tarasco, but I can't remember him playing with the Mets. I remember him as a Brave, Oriole, & Yankee.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 9 Author Posted July 9 Tony Tarasco did indeed play for the Mets! And put up decent numbers. 1. 2. Tony Tarasco 3. Tyrone Taylor 4. Taylor Teagarden 5. Tim Teufel Ridiculous that Taylor Teagarden is guessed that quickly. But again, the guy who guessed him did run a site called Ultimate Mets Database.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 I would have forgotten Teagarden except that he has a funny name and one of his few (maybe only?) hits for the Mets was a grand slam.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 9 Posted July 9 This is where my Mets autograph collection comes in handy. I remembered there was another guy, quad-A outfieldery type, recent. The alphabetical answer list meant his last name started with Ta and it came to me. Travis Taijeron. Centerfield 1

All TTs accounted for!
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted July 11 Posted July 11 The Brewers had a minor leaguer named Tommy Toledo and I thought that was the perfect baseball name.
