Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Pete Crow-Armstrong scoring from first on a double is faster than an actual flying crow.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Flegh. Two out and nobiddy on and four pitches later the game be tied.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Second straight game with three straight Chicago hits starting with two outs and none on. Last night the final two Cubs runs of the game came on a Double - Double - Double in the 8th inning. Today it's Single - Double - HR in a four pitch sequence.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago McLean had totally lost any break and was throwing straight pitch after straight pitch leading up to that homer.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago And continuing the trend I've been talking about lately: six runs today, all scored/knocked-in after two are out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Wagaman for Baty is harsh but probably right. But it leaves few options to hit for Melendez, so let's chase this lefty now. Waggy and Melendez both vulnerable to getting sent to Cutsville after this game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Waggy, on the other hand, has proven he can GiDP as well as any starter.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago First two runners on, no runs get even close to scoring due to GiDP. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Opposing runs scored with two outs: - Friday v Philly: 2 of 3 - Saturday vs PHI: 10 of 15 - Sunday/PHI: 0/6 - Tuesday/Cubs: 6/9 - Today: 6/6 So that's 24 of the last 39 have come after two were out. (37% is MLB average). And in this series not only is it 12-of-15 but 8 of them have come only came after two outs and no one on. Similar to the (lack of) clutch hitting from the Mets in the first half of last year, numbers like these are simply incomprehensible particularly since they're Not just limited to the recent small sample cite from the most recent five games.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Mendoza needs to know when the next batter is one too many.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Except that often lately, that point comes in the 1st inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago This team may seriously not win a single game for the rest of the season.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago And again. The Mets were still in the game.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I saw a 12:15 quote today from Mendoza that Soto may go on the IL I can see why the Mets would not put the interim tag on Kai Correa. They could lose him entirely in the off season Still, what are the Mets doing here?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago So much for creeping back into the race.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago In this never ending search for rock bottom, we are at our low point again. With the potential to fall further. MFS62 1
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Maybe they just need a small change of pace. I recommend replacing the manager and GM.
duan Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago the problem is both Mendoza and even Stearns are now operating as if every loss could be their last, it means they're making bad decisions for the fear of being exposed. Leaving McLean in is a good example of this from Mendoza, there's no bigger disaster for a manager then pulling the starter for the bullpen to implode, so you hope to just get one more out from him, one more out...
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think they've already been exposed. The Hot Corner 1
