Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 I wouldn't pull Sproat here. 61 pitches, 2 outs, 1 run game, runner on first? I let him try to end it here, and maybe another inning.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 Stick two forks in it.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 The defense sucks and so does Mendoza This whole team sucks truthfully3 Forks
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 Getting out managed, too.Sending your pitching coach out for a mound conference, only to see the Marlins announce a pinch-hitter after the conference is getting caught with your pants down.Beyond that, I think the jury is back with regard to the wisdom of hooking Sproat. But no, the whole team does not suck.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 In the collective it sucks
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 The nightly 'Inning from Hell' resurfaces.Nine balls were put into play in that inning, seven of which went for hits. And with the exception of the liner off Pete's glove (which coulda/woulda/shoulda been a DP) not a single ball fell anywhere near a Met fielder.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 I don't think I've seen them really work counts this season

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 Stepped away for a while and come back to see this. Brutal. Did we really go to Soto? That literally never works.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 Stinking Marlins. It's always the Marlins.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 The Mets are 4th in the NL in walks. They've got to be working some counts.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 I literally never want to see Carlos Mendoza again. I know it's not all his fault, but he has not done a thing to stop this bleeding. Every night it's just hoping everyone else loses.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 Mendoza looks almost frozen in the dugout. I know the pitching has been subpar but the in game management of it has cost games at least to me
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 They're also T-1st in the NL in the rate at which they take walks.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 I can't believe how miserable this season has been. I think it's because of the third WC spot. Without it we would have been comfortably looking to 2026 for a while now.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 I guess we're back to really needing the Reds to lose in the worst

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 I don't believe the "whole team sucks", but the starting pitching has been very unreliable and the overall defense has been quite disappointing. The attention to detail, particularly on defense, has been lacking, as on display thus far today.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2025 Posted September 26, 2025 Mets have six hits. Five came from their first nine batters of the game.

I am trying to demonstrate that your randomly unloading on everybody is not only insupportable, but inherently contradictory. It feels personal to me. Others have posted similar comments about the Mets being less than good with no responseI hope I'm wrong Case closed
