The mistakes are what kill you. The pickoff. The catcher interference. The dropped liner by Lindor.

What can you even say.

I mean geez, can they possibly suck more?

KB: How can you watch this?

KC: It's what I do...

That's just crazy talk at this point. If it was only 3 mph that

would be OK? 2 mph?

Sproat: I didn't want to see him pulled either.

But while it was a good performance [6 IP, 6 H, 3 K, 0 BB] there was also a slight feel of fragility to it to me. The Rangers seemed to have more hard hits tonight (even before the late innings) than they did yesterday where, despite the obvious run differential, it was mostly bloops and walks vs Tong & Brazoban. Plus there were some loud outs and the 6th consisted of Single - Line-out CF - Line-out LF - Single - GO. So maybe I'd have stuck with him with the idea that you pull him at the first baserunner but that puts your relief pitcher in a more precarious situation coming in with a runner on. So I guess I'm saying I wasn't for it but I can justify it, especially for a guy in his second ever ML game. And of course I have no idea about the radar readings or anything else.

I was a bit more surprised why Rogers was pulled after getting the second out in the 8th. Yeah he gave up the double to Langford following the catcher's interference but was only pulled after a medium fly to CF (the Sac Fly) and the K of Berger. Why there with two outs was it important to bring in Diaz? Diaz w/runners on can be tricky (immediately threw a WP) and it requires him to close the inning, sit, then get up again. Not that that should be considered a burden but it's a larger margin for error.

And finally: TWO RUNS! One on an error (Lindor could have been out at 3rd OR home with better throws) and one on a bomb.

The rest of the game consisted of every AB failing to come through in every single situation that could have tacked on an extra run here or there.

11 hits, 3 walks, 2 errors, one HBP ... and one unearned run, a solo HR naturally. Ain't no pitching changes gonna fix that!

Oh, and every hit except the Soto HR was a single.
