Angels are reporting "undisclosed injury"

Lead in his feet.

I don't know if I believe he was removed for injury

Angels are saying "tight back".

That is either a reason for his unaggressive play in RF or an excuse for it.

Diaz strikes out Rengifo to end the threat. Diaz got three called strikes that were all off the plate. The umpire essentially took the bat out of Rengifo's hands.

I saw an article the other day saying how interim LAA manager Ray Montgomery (who just got run over those B/S calls) is a MLBS ... or at least grew up as one.

btw, it's a shame that Ron Washington is still listed as 'Manager' for the team throughout his absence and so Montgomery (like seemingly all interims in all sports)

has neither these Angels' wins or losses go on his record.

I support the ump here

I don't believe Mendoza is doing Acuna any favors as regards to playing time

He should playing more against lefties and eighties

They don't often show a coach/manager flipping off an an ump.

Pretty amusing....

Had no idea that yesterday's game was an afternoon one. Got in my ride to drive to a gig and heard Howie with the recap. D'oh !

A good game. Pete's homer was monstrous and everyone in the park knew it was gone, even the 6 month-old in front of us sleeping in her mothers' arms. Manaea throws too many pitches: strikeouts are nice, but 3-2 counts aren't.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing during Peterson's last start. He went full on six of 23 Cincy batters faced and had his share of ABs end on 3-1 and 2-2 counts as well.

82 pitches thru 5 (Manaea) is high but but not ridiculously so (you'd like to see more like 75) and mainly it was the 2nd inning [2 pitches, 7, 4, 3, 5, 4 = 25] when he walked two and escaped by getting the 3rd out with a bases loaded grounder to SS. He was <15 pitches in three of the other four innings.

What I think is obvious is that this org, at least for now, is being very conservative concerning pitch counts across the board so that anyone straying near or above the 90 mark is likely to get the hook (Manaea even lower because second game back from IL) and we'll get to watch Mendy take his chances with the nightly edition of bullpen roulette.
