I remember I tried starting a thing by calling him Zoobs but it didn't catch on.



I also remember when we traded for him. There was optimism. Hope. A time when things were starting to look up. So I was optimistic. Hopeful. But alas...Zoobs is gone.



We traded minor leaguer Paul Gervase for him, an otherwise unknown pitcher, who made his big league debut this year.

John Tyler Zuber (all the best pitchers lead with their middle namrs) regularly tweeted very supportive messages -- "Pete Alonso is a dawg!" -- about his would-be MLB teammates while marooned in Syracuse. I thought that was good form.
