ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 Who will be the Mets pitcher to breakout as a dark horse Met. He may not be on the team as of today
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 Dedniel Nunez has an enormous butt. Butt he can pitch.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Author Posted June 26, 2025 I like him, I can not lie.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 I suspect the Dedniel they called up a few weeks ago was an imposter with a prosthetic butt. This guy is the real deal.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 Would be something if Nunez and Butto got it together.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Author Posted June 26, 2025 I think I like the 'My Girl' sing-along best when it's 1st inning only.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 Nice to see Lindor hammering to first without apparent discomfort.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Author Posted June 26, 2025 8 hits (plus 3 walks) in 7 innings but that one is the first non-single (even though it was the second one to reach the wall).

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 Two out double by Alonso and I thought Soto would be sent.It would have taken a bad play for him to score, of course, and Sarbaugh had more faith in McNeil ... with good reason, as it turns out.Way not to act desperate, Mike Sarbaugh.Welcome to 2025, Travis Jankowski.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 (edited) Stanek looked filthy there.Of course, with that hair, he always looks filthy. Edited June 26, 2025 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 [CROSSOUT]Six[/CROSSOUT] Seven pitches for Stanek in the eighth. Send him right back out there.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Author Posted June 26, 2025 Big win today.- back in 1st place as Philly was busy getting swept in Houston- back to 10 G ahead of Braves. Not quite the 13 back they were before the series in ATL, or even the 14.5 they briefly were behind, but better than the 8 G they had closed to before the final two games of this series.- Braves & Phils play each other (in ATL) this weekend whilst we're in Pittsburgh where ... we'll miss Paul Skenes! Now we just need to find some upright pitchers.

Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 Fantastic! I'm headed to Pittsburgh tomorrow! Keep it going!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 That was an impressively professional job by Edwin Diaz, especially with a four-run lead. He kept it around the plate, getting folks out with indifferent contact, and only after a guy hit his way on base did he let the tiger out of the cage.It was looking like another potential regression season for him back in April. Now he has a damn good chance at being an All-Star.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2025 Posted June 26, 2025 What a crappy win. If the Mets pitching staff is gonna hurl a combined shutout, how the hell are the Mets supposed to come back from behind? Huh? What a gyp! This game felt like a loss. Maybe if Canning allowed three solo HR's in the first inning -- and then the Mets scored their four runs, this would have been a satisfying win. But no.Stupid, fucking Mets.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 I'm not throwing back any win based on style points.Have to assume Canning is done for the season. So right now it's Holmes, Peterson, Montas, Blackburn and (?) If Manaea returns that fixes (?), but he's still going to make another rehab start. That means (?) is pitching sometime next week.Blackburn's been crap, but Senga's at least a few weeks away. So there's a lot of dead spots in the rotation for a while.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 The Mets are professional in going about their work The Mets are going to win their division and the World SeriesKahnfident!!

batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 Not that I have a vote, but I think that over the last two games, Juan Soto overtook Ronald Acuna, Jr, and is now the front-runner for the NL June player of the month award.
