ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Not sold Diaz is the right choice here
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 This is where Diaz folds his tent
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 23, 2025 Author Posted April 23, 2025 Sorry to see Diaz hurting, but sore or not, he considers baserunners to be a rumor, doesn't he?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 The Phillies appear to lead the league in headbands.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Break for the MetsKronic Kranick
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Well, this game has gone down hill fast.Mets catch a break on the back being cancelled. Kranick needs to close it out and hope the offense can salvage this one.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Inning potentially falling apart here.

roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 I've been getting "TOO MANY REQUESTS" messages for so long I forgot what I wanted to write. This is as positive a feeling I've had about the Mets in a long time. Diaz is upsetting, but maybe a good thing in the long run if he takes a short stay on IL while we bring up McNeil and Alvarez? Closer by committee for a while? Butto? Kranick? Stanek? Minter?
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 It's one thing to take out the Marlins and Cardinals. Sweeping the Phillies is a whole other story.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Great win , big crowd , amazing
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Today was awesome, caught innings 1-6 at home, 7-9 at my daughter's doctor appointment and in the car, and the 10th while riding my bike at the park. Big win.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 Decided to play hooky and take advantage of a gorgeous day at the stadium--unbelievably large crowd for a Wednesday matinee in April. And the energy was off the charts. Really glad I went and really, really glad they won!

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 What a great game. I couldn't get on the CPF for the final inning and immediately after the game due to "Too Many Requests". I wish it was due to an influx of members, but it was probably caused damn AI spam bots. This team just keeps hanging in there and finding ways to win. I don't believe the pitching can sustain the current level of excellence throughout the season, but they should still be better than expected. I expect the offense will improve as McNeil and Alvarez return. More importantly, I believe it is only a matter of time before Soto, Vientos, and hopefully Nimmo begin to hit at their expected levels. Great homestand. Very fun to watch.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 I'm more optimistic about Soto and Vientos than I am about Nimmo.

That is why I put hopefully before Nimmo. He just doesn't seem as patient as he was in years past. I don't know if possibly trying to hit for more power (batting 4-5) rather than trying to get on base (batting 1-2) ahead of the RBI bats. He seems to be trying to a power and RBI bat, rather than an on base table setter.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 And he's signed through 2030, so it would be great if he could figure things out. He's only a month past his 32nd birthday, so he's a bit too young to be washed up, but you never know.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 I fear that Nimmo's foot injury (plantar fascitis is a bitch) could be a long-lingering issue.
