Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 Just ten minutes ago, literally, I was wondering what ever happened with him.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 He seemed very upset last year that he couldn't play for the team this year. Once he needed the TJ surgery, he seemed regretful, since it meant his Mets career was likely over.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 Guys on The Mets Pod were hoping and speculating this might be the case for Brooks Raley as well.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 When a team has more $ (they all have some $) it can do this--if it works out they get a good RP for a good price and if it doesn't it's "only" $1M. In "Black Edge", the book about Steve's company, the author tells the story of when Steve and another very rich guy wanted the same house. The other guy told Steve "I'll give you a million dollars right now to walk away" and Steve replied, "what am I going to do with a million dollars?" This is something he can do with a million dollars.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 Glad to see him back with a chance to help the team. I have always liked him. Cheap deal, that may turn out to be a solid investment. If he just can't go again, then it isn't costing much.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 I remember when he had long hair.Oh wait this isn't for memories. Forget I said that.
