The photo for HAIR FORCE ONE is an apology for the photo in ALONSOMG!



Superior layout. Superior layering of elements. HAIR FORCE ONE is a winner that deserves to go down in The Hall of Champions.

My main thing is that ALONSOMG just doesn't roll off the tongue. HAIR FORCE WON works in every way.



The one great part of ALONSOMG is Nunez bent over in the background. But everything else just doesn't work as well. The angle is weird. Like the photographer was lying down in the on deck circle. Half of Pete's face is covered, compared to the sun showing every wrinkle in Jesse's forehead. I don't think anything can match the feeling we had when Pete hit that HR. But you can only ride that moment for so long.

ALONSOMG captures perhaps the best moment of the season. HAIR FORCE WON! is the best cover.

Someone needs to appear from the weeds and tie this baby up

again. I know OMG and the Grimace and dumbly dressed comics

in the stands were a big part of 2024 but 'Hair Force Won' is just

a much better cover and should go all the way!

Well, OMG had basically the defining moment of the season. It turned a pretty good year into a great year. It's not a bad picture and it works in the elements it needs to.



Hair Force is a lot of hair.

The significance of the event pictured influences our perception of the cover. I think ALONSOMG got further than it might have if it had depicted a game in June.

If the momentous seasonal drama matters so very much more than all the other elements — and past winners suggest otherwise — the Mets don't even get to ALONSOMG! without HAIR FORCE WON having first landed.



I dunno how ALONSOMG! can really be called a particularly good photo, but that's in the eye of the beholder. The best thing in that photo probably would have been his pumpin' forearms, but they covered 'em up.



I guess I've got to learn to lose gracefully. On the other hand, there are three new applications to join the pool that I've let sit around all weekend. Maybe if I approve 'em now, they can sweep in and swing this thing.

The Post celebrating FORCE, front page or back, gave me authoritarian creeps when I saw it in August and gives me more of them now.
