Little nervous but that may have to do with a blind-date watch party I'm leaving for

What's a blind date watch party?

Neighborhood reddit meetup. But we had a change of plans and are watching at a different pub

What's a Reddit meetup?

The one thing you wanted to do tonight was get into the Dodger pen early on as tomorrow is probably a bullpen game for them anyway.

Instead, it's looking like we might not get into it at all.

Ad for MLB Apparel: You can wear the same gear as the players are wearing this post-season

Really, you mean I can also pretend my last name is Strauss?

Pete needs to get his head into something close to the game.

That throw to 2nd with a runner potentially impeding the throw is Pete's biggest weakness as a fielder.

Yeah, it's gotten into his head-like thing.

Just flush it and come out firing tomorrow.

Exactly. These things happen. Get it tomorrow and things are back on track.

Keith used to take a step towards the pitcher's mound just before making that throw to get a better, that is, a clear and unobstructed angle on that throw and pretty much eliminate the problem of having the runner interfere with the throw. Keith of course, had the advantage of throwing left-handed, which made that tactic possible for him. I think Keith invented that play. And if he didn't invent it, he sure as hell brought it into prominence and made the tactic very noticeable. From what I saw tonight, I don't know what Pete could have done from the angle he was throwing. Pete had an awful angle. It looked to me, that it was impossible for Pete's throw to not hit the runner unless he put so much loft on the throw that it would have been impossible to retire the runner by the time the throw reached second base.

And the other thing about Keith is that if he was calling tonight's game, he would've mentioned pretty much everything I put into my post just above because first base defense is smack in the middle of Keith's wheelhouse. But instead, we got shit like announcers fighting each other to see who could be the first person to salivate and slobber all over Ohtani getting a lucky fucking ground ball single that was an accident and that Ohtani surely regretted hitting that grounder and going "Oh Fuck!" inside of his head in Japanese the instant, the millisecond after he made contact with that stupid, lucky fucking three-hopper of a grounder.
