Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Not worried about the Dodgers. They're our next bitches.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2024 Author Posted October 5, 2024 Their pitching is certainly suspect.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Pades up 1- 0 in the 1st. Profar just made a great into the crowd HR catch and then played the crowd
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 Now 3-0But they were up 3-0 early in the game last night too.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2024 Author Posted October 6, 2024 3 - 1 Sandy Eggo end of 3rd
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Padres hammer LA , Dodgers fans are awful ,throwing stuff at the Padre outfielders, these teams really don't like each other

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 I'm rooting for the Dodgers tonight because I don't want our next opponent to have the extra couple of days of rest.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 Well Mookie Betts HR'd as the second batter of the game so they're off to a good start.

Regardless of who we face Sunday I'd like them to have to play one more time and spend their best starters/relievers to get there.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 5 - 0 Dodgers, top 4
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 Dodgers win big, game 5 tomorrow.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 Kike Hernandez HRs of Darvish in bottom 2 for a 1-0 LAD lead. Yamamoto is on the hill for the Dodgers. IMO the Pads are the better team right now so I'm pulling for LA. Despite the billion or so dollars they spent for various superstars, the Dodgers still wound up with half a lineup and half a rotation.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Yeah, but lack of pitching depth traditionally can be papered over in the post-season.I'm curious if the return of Kodai Senga is taken as a challenge by Ohtani to get back on the mound. I imagine not — I doubt the Dodgers are going to go there — but it'd be interesting if he tries to make the case.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 They were 2-4 vs. the Dodgers this season, and 5-1 vs. the Padres. It is, of course, a small sample size, and may be more about when they caught the two teams. The locked up with the Dodgers at a pretty low point in late May.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Pirate pitcher Bob Veale, talking about the 1960 World Series, in which the MFYs set offense records but Pittsburgh won, said it best, "Good pitching stops good hitting. And vice Versa".Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 Now 2-0 Dodgers on solo HRs by the Hernandi: Kike and TeoscarOnly six hits combined so far. Going to bottom 8
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 Dodgers win. Game 1 Sunday in LA at 8:15 PM.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2024 Author Posted October 11, 2024 NY, NY, LA and ?? [DET or CLE]Well the networks are going to be happy anyway.Pads get shut out in their final 18 innings.
