A thousand times this. Although I'm not bringing in Diaz in the ninth just to seal the deal.

The 1988 Mets beat the Dodgers ten games out of eleven in the regular season.

Double yup. That's where I am. Let somebody else go after the Brews. They looked terrific against the Mets.

I don't give a flying fuck. First of all, I truly believe with all of my heart, that the Mets might be the best team in baseball right now. Though what worries me, especially in a very short series, is the Mets lack of an overpowering strikeout pitcher. Second of all, this all a crapshoot -- a short series between two good teams. It's become so cliche to say that -- 'crapshoot" -- that those words in this context tend to gloss over people.

But it's a crapshoot. I'm certain that if you got the 100 foremost baseball experts to predict the winners of each of the post-season series the rest of the way out, they'd do no better at picking the winners than us here on this forum. And us here on this forum would do no better at picking the winners than a bunch of four-year-old girls who don't know a goddamn thing about baseball. And those four-year-old girls would do no better than a bunch of chimpanzees flipping coins, heads for the higher seed and tails for the lower seed.

I think the Brewers present an especially vexing opponent for us. Mets can slug it out with the big offense teams but seem vulnerable to teams that execute at a high level like the Brewers. You can either defend the steal or you can't; the Mets can't. Good defensive teams are that way because they do so consistently.

Anything can happen of course. I just think the Brewers are trouble. Anyone who watched those games would have to conclude that.
