G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Long Island's Own (this Atlantic League season) Jackie Bradley, Jr., has inked a minor league deal with the quackers' Queens neighbors.NYM welcomes LIOJBJ.
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Maybe he's headed to Syracuse to fill a spot and Drew Gilbert is headed to Queens!
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Drew Gilbert has been out all but 40 abs this season due to a hamstring issueHe just went on a rehab assignment the other day. Not sure we see him at Citified this season
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Yeah, not sure what he brings to the table that Bader doesn't, except not as good a stick.Last time JBJ had a BA over .210 or an OPS over 600 was back in 2020
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Mets sites have been saying in the last few weeks that the Mets needed a lefty hitting outfielder. They got one. Now, let's get a better one.Later

If they bring him to Queens absent an injury, that is a whole different story.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Most nights it's a pretty nondescript group of OFs up here. The talent on the field in on the infield
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 Yeah, and he has a good defensive reputation, so if he just makes the pitchers feel good that is fine too.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 He's obviously got a cool name going, like he's a jazz musician or flamboyant personal injury lawyer. You remember him better than other Reserve outfielder who try and salvage their careers in the Atlantic League.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Was decent once. Good defensively. Was an All-Star. Won a Gold Glove. Had power. Decent speed. Strikes out a lot. Bad average. We already have someone who somewhat fits that mold on the roster, Ben Gamel.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Yeah, but there's this other roster in Syracuse.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Bradley hit more than well enough with the Ducks to justify giving him a few weeks in Syracuse to see what he really has. I don't think a platoon partner for Bader would be a bad thing.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 JBJ only has to be more useful than Ben Gamel, and he sounds that way.
