Supposedly fainted last night (which, with the time later reported as 5:15, is more accurately described as "this morning") in the bathroom. Called the trainer presumably when he came to, who got him to the hospital.

Ended up with what he calls a "Harry Potter scar," but was released from the hospital. I imagine he'll hit the concussion DL, though. I missed much of the game, so please share if you have more Nimminfo.

I figgered it deserved its own thread, old news though it may be by now. Also, here's a photo of Dark Brandon.

I didn't think there was any such thing as Dark Brandon.

He was on the bench by the middle/late part of the game although was said to be not available.

He underwent a "whole battery of tests" at the hospital, as he did a few weeks ago after getting hit by a pitch on the C-flap part of his helmet resulted in a subsequent slump. Any concussion after-effects were ruled out in that case. No word yet on how they'll proceed here.

The team flies to Pittsburgh following Thursday morning's game and ... OMG, they're not going to put him on a plane are they?!?!?!?!

They have pretty good concussion protocols these days. Apparently Zimmo will be in the lineup on Tuesday.

It's a four-hour drive to PGH from DC. So maybe a lucky intern gets to drive him if they really want to play it safe.

Did they say why he fainted?

"We went to the [emergency room], got CT scan, an EKG, all the tests that we could think of to find out what this might be," Nimmo said, adding that the conclusion of what most likely happened was his blood pressure spiking as a reaction to the cramp and he fainted.

Unfortunately I once worked with somebody who slipped coming out of the shower and his head landed full force at a bad location and he was gone just like that. So Nimmo is luckier than he probably realizes. Having said that, I really really hope this was a simple one-time accident.

You have to wonder.

Was there a concussion scare earlier in the year? I feel like he got a HBP sometime, though I may be making that up.

He remembered that someone in the bullpen had retired the side in order that night.

He looked like he was running the bases OK last night but once again he was positively lollygagging to first (by Zimmo standards) on the walk.

One thing to keep in mind, the Zimmos are expecting their first child. That was announced right about the moment he started sucking, iirc

edit-- announced just 2 weeks ago but obvs the Zimms had known longer than that. Baby due in December
