Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 A friend sent me this in a Facebook message today 🤢👿Ps…not sure if this belongs in the baseball forum…
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 It's a-baseball.Bonilla silliness is sadly a narrative with a long tail, kept alive by those who ain't really about paying attention to what's really going on.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I feel like it's not even part of this team anymore. Like this is a relic of the prior regime that we can just laugh at now.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I get the impression that as Mets fans we're supposed to be embarrassed by this. If that's the case, it's not working.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Gimme a break. The way things are going, soon enough you won't even be able to buy half a house for a million dollars.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 The only way this would be funny would be if they televised Fred Wilpon writing the check every year
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 That's one of those embarrassing things that we can wince a bit, then laugh about and put behind us, like the 1962 season.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 I don't see how it's even embarrassing. They made a deal for more money later instead of a year by year salary, a practice that isn't even remotely uncommon. That the deal didn't turn out to be as smart as the owners thought when they made it is an issue for accountants and since when did fans go around rooting for, or against, team pencil pushers?I can't get even slightly worked up about this.
