Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Take note ESPN (and FOX), it turns out that you CAN interview a manager and still show the game at the same time!!Somebody please pass along the word to the folks in Bristol.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Vientos still doesn't look particularly smooth or graceful in the field ... but he's increasingly turning more tough plays into outs and making fewer E's at the same time.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 Those raindrops are the size of tomatoes.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Alvarez hits the ball so hard he brings rain.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 I like watching baseball ... but I'll take this win any way I can get it.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 The league's top starters have really brought out the best from this latter-day version of the Mets. The Yankees couldn't have lined up their rotation any better for this series, but alas.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Game got better after the break
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 We've really got to stop walking guys in front of Judge.... and I actually typed that just one pitch prior to him smacking the snot out of that pitch.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 This pitch-Ottavino-every-day-until-he-works-his-shit-out strategy is interesting.

Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Seriously, this is great
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 A 10-2 lead.That's pretty safe, right?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 I don't think I've seen a pitch yet from Yoendrys Gómez that has had a Met fooled. That homer just now from Taylor seemed to be just a matter of time.Say what you will about the Mets' pen, but ... .
Bob Alpacadaca Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 This is a good game so far.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 All right, I'm out.So if this game gets blown I'm going to hold one of you folks responsible.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Who are these guys and what have they done with the Mets?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 Let's see if we get to ring the Adcock Bell.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 I'm thinking that these Yankees lead the league in bling.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2024 Author Posted June 26, 2024 I was looking for an Adcock sighting, but I've instead stumbled into a Gamel encounter!
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Enjoyed the post rain delay highlights that I just caught up on. Sorry but I can't survive a 90 minute weeknight break in the action.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 Mets are at .500. (Their season high is two games over.)They've also put some distance between themselves and much of the cluster. They were behind the Cubs, for instance, heading into the series at Wrigley, and now are up on them by 3 1/2 games.St. Louis and San Diego both won also last night, so the Mets sit a game and a half behind both the second and third Wild Card spots.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Catching up on some games. What a rout!!!
