Stupid shitshow update:

The Mets are practically a playoff team.

The Mets are only one game out of the money. If the season ended tomorrow, the Mets could still make the playoffs.

This has been your stupid shitshow update.

Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow.

Forward.

So is this shitshow run of baseball where the Mets are getting their asses handed to them on a daily basis. Think I was kidding a few days ago when I wrote that they were about one two game losing streak from clinching a playoff spot?

(Right direction, he says). It's more like one step forward, four steps backwards .

They faced the top pitcher in the league and scored more and they hadn't been scoring.

Martinez, Alonso, Vientos, and Nido hitting in the same game. I'll take what I can get.

There is no scenario under which this game can be seen as a step in any direction except one into oblivion.

The first two runs were handed to us, the last three meaningless.

Seems like the big slide started when we lost Alvarez. Adding Senga at the end of the month and then Alvarez next month will make a difference. Megill and Peterson are progressing.

The Phillies have the most wins in the MLB right now. Will be nice to play the Marlins - but we can't throw those games away by loading the bases and walking in runs.

That's for certain. If the team chases sliders away while the opposition takes them, they'll never get anywhere.

It's in the approach.

It could be because they aren't (except maybe Severino) "Stuff" pitchers. So, in absence of a strikeout pitch, they have to get batters out by pitching to the corners or getting batters to chase outside the zone. And they've been unsuccessful doing that.

Just my impression/opinion without looking at pitch selection and location charts, should they be available.

I'm also looking forward to Alvarez coming back. But he had a .652 OPS prior to getting hurt. So it's not like he was providing big production.

I do think he will be better than that once he comes back.
