Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 For a team with a lot of Gold Glovers in the lineup, it's the Cubs D keeping the Mets in the game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Ain't no Cubs defender going to catch a ball in the upper tank, though.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Well, I poo-pooed Stewart yesterday, but he gets my approval today!
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 DJ Stewart spinning the big hits!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Did that go over the heads of the Tuesday Night Mets Club?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Michael Busch staying in the game to play first. The Cubs have completely forsaken Wisdom.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 The Cubs have a couple of guys who should be playing for their NL Central rivals — with a pitcher named Brewer (whose curve I like) who somehow eluded Milwaukee, and firstbaseman name Busch who isn't a Cardinal. No players on the bench named Red or Pirate as far as I can tell.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 This team's relief corps is DEEP.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Otto, indeed, is having a terrific season. After those leadoff walks the last two innings, I felt pretty safe that Adam wasn't going there.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 I got a good idea, let's NOT walk the leadoff hitter this inning.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Nice inning by Lopez despite the double: three grounders, one of which found a hole, then a foul pop-out to end the game which followed a previous foul pop which could have been caught plus a pitch which could have been strike three.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 The double was on a pretty solid pitch as well.First win in three years for Sean Reid-Foley.But I'm thinking that DJ is our PotG.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 Yeah, Jorge made lot of good pitches and, really, the leadoff dubble was barely worse than a walk and to some extent troubled me less.

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 DJ murdered that baseball. Good stuff tonight
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Thoughts on the Game!!1DJs HR crashed into the section just to our left, and literally as I was saying "What we need is a three-run Homer here." It was flyingI learned that Jorge Lopez is from New York. NY.Once again it was frigid in the swirly Citifield winds, although they mercifully died down by the 7th. Hats and gloves, three shirts kinda cold.I had a modest 4 hot dogs (only 1 with a roll) along with a Miller High Life, my new go-to Met beverage. Concession stands were jammed but I was fortunate Manea put a few guys on and so I didn't miss any Met at-bats.Lively crowd as fans overindulged in hot dogs and beer, got excited about the Knicks updates and tension between Met and Cub fans. There was a beer throwing incident we could see on the field level and "F embiid" chants from the outfield.I liked Ottavino last night.Do we know why Martinez wears J.D. Martinez on his uni?
