Radar Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 They're just plain hard watch. Double play machine with men in scoring position. Boy Stearns you better be up to the hype before next season starts.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 That was a blunder I'd expect the Mets to make! We're wearing off on others.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 I keep seeing these baseball video game ads. Is it just me or have the graphics really not gotten that much better in years? At the rate they were improving back in the day, I'd have expected near photo-realistic graphics by now.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 Mets not pinch-running Wendle or a pitcher for Stewart.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 One out away from being under .500 again.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Come on Mark, here's your chance to enter Mets lore with a game-winning dinger.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 Mets get the walkoff from Vientos but don't have a sideline reporter working the game to interview him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 Joey Wendle was unavailable. Wow.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 He apparently had been sent home sick by Mendoza.I'm also curious if Lindor's slide resulted in any damage.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 I was watching this on delay and just now saw the ending. It was exhilarating! And that triumphant roar from Vientos is one I'll remember for a long time!

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 28, 2024 Author Posted April 28, 2024 Something is going to have to give, but it's unlikely to simply be Vientos for Wendle. The team had already been shorthanded, playing with a single backup infielder before Vientos arrived. If they're going to go back to only five infielders, it's unlikely that the fifth will be a guy who hasn't played shortstop since he was 17, and hasn't played second at all.It could happen, but it would sure make their versatility problem worse.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Great start from Quintana. Nice to see a starter go more than 5 innings. Great moment for Vientos. Much needed win for the team. Hopefully it will give the team some cahnfidence as they prepare to host the Cubs.

And a lower number of relievers would allow them to keep both Vientos and Wendle around.Later
