Mets have absolutely tattooed two balls now — one each by Taylor and Nido — and both have improbably ended up in Brendan Donovan's glove.

That's three. There kind of was no doubt that Donovan would catch up with that last one.

They finally get one that Donovan can't catch, but elect not bunt the run home as St. Louis did, so they once again come up empty.

With 79 pitches expended, I'd love to see him come out for the seventh, but I'm not optimistic.
