Well they went cheap and short term looking to next season. Overall the pitching less Senga has been better than I expected.

Houser reminds me of Brian Lawrence or Jose Lima circa 2007/2006, respectively. If the Mets miss out on the playoffs because of 2-3 unfortunate losses early in the season, Houser will be the guy to blame I think.



Had the Mets chosen a better name that Brian Lawrence (1-2, 6.83 in 6 starts) in 2007, they might have had enough padding to withstand the collapse toward the end of the year. If they hadn't pitched Lima (0-4, 9.87 ERA in 4 starts) in 2006, they could have been a 100-win team.

Houser's mainstream stats were bad. His peripherals were worse. Never understood the move.



Hopefully this is his last start.

José Lima was signed to a minor-league contract during spring training and didn't appear as a big leaguer until May when John Maine got hurt a second time.



Whatever Houser is, he's not José Lima.
