It would have been a long short flight to Cincy without eeeking one out.

If you saw that coming, please report to the front desk and pick up your prize.

Hopefully now they can settle down a bit. Butto looked impressive, and I'm sure he'll get another turn in the rotation after that performance.

But Zimmo and Lindor? Woof. At least Brandon walks occasionally, but Francisco looks lost up there right now.

Lost in the hullabaloo is that Reed Garrett was the entire bullpen in Game Two, going three shutout innings, striking out four along the way, while nailing down his second career win — which also was, of course, the team's first of the season.

And he's almost certainly not joining the team on their flight to Cincinnati.

Just NOW!!!! finished watching the back-2-back games via delay.

So at least now I can go to bed less pissed off and discouraged than I expected to.

Not that I'm happy, just less pissed off.

One fun part of that finish is that most of the time, it seems you don't have to pitch to Tyrone Taylor. He's already shown that he's kind of the Mets version of Javy Baez at the plate — the guy in the lineup who will swing at anything near the strike zone, and maybe one or two things that aren't really near it at all. Gary even compared his body type to that of Jeff Francoeur earlier in the game.

With first base open and the winning run on third, it's almost a no-brainer to try to get him to chase. But maybe getting Francisco Álvarez into the game batting behind him forced Faedo to pitch him more honestly.

I'm still trying to figure out how Pete could reach that far for a ball and still be able to muscle it over the fence. That looked like, at best, a bloop single when it left the bat. What a monster he is.

MVP: the dancing woman.

I thought that was a dude.

The new Mets dance team isn't quite what I expected.

A fun add-on to the Mets first win is that, since most of the Eastern states were also being drenched with precipitation, only Syracuse was in action among Mets affiliates, so with the https://www.milb.com/gameday/mets-vs-railriders/2024/04/04/752490/final/boxS-Mets 5-4 victory over the much-reviled Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders, the Mets first win of the season got to be part of the organization's first organizational sweep of the Stoins era!

I'm disappointed Alonso isn't getting more PotG support here. His homer not only flipped the game around — it's the turning point in the team's season thus far.

I don't think he got a disappointing amount of votes for the game. Could

I have given him 2 sips instead of 1.75? Sure. And the voting is for the game,

not what may have happened in the ten days following that game.
