Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 If anybody wants to give us a KTE thread about the 2024 Brew Crew, please feel free to step up!!The below lineups are pretty speculative. The Mets deployment is probably pretty close to correct, but the Brewers lineup card is still up in the air, as they may be platooning at as many as four positions — five if you count DH, but yeah that's former Met Gary Sanchez expected to be hacking against José Qunintana. There's also some question about Sal Frelick, who played outfield when he came up last season, but has been seeing time at third of late. It's unclear whether he'll be in right on Opening Day, at third, or on the bench, but a quick review of their beat writers and their twitter users (kill me now) suggests that the last scenario.

[TH][/TH][TH][FIMG=250]https://cdn.freebiesupply.com/images/large/2x/milwaukee-brewers-logo-transparent.png[/FIMG][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][FIMG=250]https://cdn.freebiesupply.com/images/large/2x/new-york-mets-logo-transparent.png[/FIMG][/TH][TH][/TH]

[TH]#[/TH][TH]Player[/TH][TH]Pos.[/TH][TH]#[/TH][TH]Player[/TH][TH]Pos.[/TH]

=#ffc52f]1=#12284b]Jackson Chourio (R)=#ffc52f]rf=#FF5910]1=#002D72]Brandon Nimmo (L)=#FF5910]lf

=#ffc52f]2=#12284b]William Contreras (R)=#ffc52f]c=#FF5910]2=#002D72]Francisco Lindor (S)=#FF5910]ss

=#ffc52f]3=#12284b]Christian Yelich (L)=#ffc52f]lf=#FF5910]3=#002D72]Pete Alonso (R)=#FF5910]1b

=#ffc52f]4=#12284b]Rhys Hoskins (R)=#ffc52f]1b=#FF5910]4=#002D72]Jeff McNeil (L)=#FF5910]2b

=#ffc52f]5=#12284b]Willy Adames (R)=#ffc52f]ss=#FF5910]5=#002D72]Starling Marte (R)=#FF5910]rf

=#ffc52f]6=#12284b]Gary Sánchez (R)=#ffc52f]dh=#FF5910]6=#002D72]D.J. Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 This is what mlb.com projects as the starting lineup.1. Sal Frelick, CF2. William Contreras, C3. Christian Yelich, LF4. Rhys Hoskins, 1B5. Willy Adames, SS6. Gary Sánchez, DH7. Jackson Chourio, RF8. Brice Turang, 2B9. Joey Ortiz, 3BSP: RHP Freddy PeraltaCL: RHP Trevor MegillNote the last name on that list as we may have dueling Megills late in the game on Thursday.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 25, 2024 Author Posted March 25, 2024 A Frelick and a Yellich can also make things fun.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted March 25, 2024 Posted March 25, 2024 Chilly rainy opening day. Whoda thunk it in March in New York?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 25, 2024 Author Posted March 25, 2024 Hopefully duan gets better weather on Sunday. The strange latter-day tradition of beisbol opening on Thursday and skipping Friday almost makes me root for a rained-out opener.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 Unless you're hiding big leaguers in your pocket, pretty sure your DH is actually named D.J. Stewart, not D.J. Steward. C'mon, guy.

DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2024 Posted March 26, 2024 I'm not a fan of playing on Good Friday, but that's just me. I'm also not a fan of playing baseball in March. The season should run from April through late September, with playoffs concluded by the third week of October. Baseball in November is crazy.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 I thought the idea was not to let a NY team open at home in MarchOr so I thought
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 Phillies also postponed by a day.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 Boosts the chance that they actually get to play the game. Maybe the Friday off day is a good idea?
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted March 27, 2024 Posted March 27, 2024 Glad they didn't keep everyone up in the air until morning only to call itanyways. It's gonna be a soaker tonight and tomorrow.

Radar Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2024 Posted March 29, 2024 I like our lineup as well. If our starting pitching can hold up I think we hopefully are looking wild card. It's dependent on our starters.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 29, 2024 Author Posted March 29, 2024 Well, we had the right Mets lineup, and had all the right nine guys in (mostly) all the right positions for the Brews. Just had a few guys out of order in the back end.CAN MLB.COM SAY THE SAME?!?!

[TH][/TH][TH][FIMG=250]https://cdn.freebiesupply.com/images/large/2x/milwaukee-brewers-logo-transparent.png[/FIMG][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][/TH][TH][FIMG=250]https://cdn.freebiesupply.com/images/large/2x/new-york-mets-logo-transparent.png[/FIMG][/TH][TH][/TH]

[TH]#[/TH][TH]Player[/TH][TH]Pos.[/TH][TH]#[/TH][TH]Player[/TH][TH]Pos.[/TH]

=#ffc52f]1=#12284b]Jackson Chourio (R)=#ffc52f]rf=#FF5910]1=#002D72]Brandon Nimmo (L)=#FF5910]lf

=#ffc52f]2=#12284b]William Contreras (R)=#ffc52f]c=#FF5910]2=#002D72]Francisco Lindor (S)=#FF5910]ss

=#ffc52f]3=#12284b]Christian Yelich (L)=#ffc52f]lf=#FF5910]3=#002D72]Pete Alonso (R)=#FF5910]1b

=#ffc52f]4=#12284b]Rhys Hoskins (R)=#ffc52f]1b=#FF5910]4=#002D72]Jeff McNeil (L)=#FF5910]2b

=#ffc52f]5=#12284b]Willy Adames (R)=#ffc52f]ss=#FF5910]5=#002D72]Starling Marte (R)=#FF5910]rf

=#ffc52f]6=#12284b]Blake Perkins (L)=#ffc52f]cf=#FF5910]6=#002D72]D.J.
