G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 (edited) Yuck is up 1-0 on Yeech.I think I'm pro-Yuck in this series. Developing a real appreciation for Harper as long as it's not against us. Edited October 8, 2023 by Guest
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 I rooting for a massive case of Dysentery to strike both teams, so they'll have to keep their crap in the clubhouse.Later
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Wheeler having himself a ball game thus far.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 - Wheeler tossing a no-no thru 5 (1 E the only blemish)- Max Fried, who battled blister issues in Sept and hadn't throw a ML game in 18 days, issued several walks and two out hits ... then a 2R Bomb to Realmuto. - Phils also running the bases well. Fried lasted just 4.Braves, the team which usually seems to have a 3R lead in the 1st inning every day, have yet to score at all thru 14 innings.- 4-0 lead in top 6 and are threatening more (2 on/1 out, Harper up) ... but they get out of it with consecutive foul outs
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 d'Arnaud hits a two-run bomb off Wheeler and my Met brain doesn't know how to feel
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 (edited) Oh My, AGAIN!!!!!!A leaping catch at the CF wall by Michael Harris turns into a game-ending DP when Harper was doubled off of 1st Edited October 9, 2023 by Guest
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Put it in the book of Braves

I changed it after the Riley homer and missed all the drama.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Man, these Braves fans are so incredibly tone deaf. On Indigenous People's Day, to boot.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 Yeah, it takes a lot to make me not celebrate a team doubling off Harper to end a playoff game.It seems like a simple statement from a few players along the line of "We appreciate the support, but please don't express it in that way" would make a world of difference.

I wonder if it would make a difference if someone in their own uniform said something.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 I'm of the "Alice's Restaurant" mindset. It would take at least three.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2023 Posted October 10, 2023 Braves are clearly cheating.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 Phils' bats make Bryce Elder age even quicker by putting up a four-spot in the 3rd inning following a spotless 1st & 2nd.4-1, Phillies still batting.Make that 6-1
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 Harper is feasting. 2 bombs, 4 ribeye steaks.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 8-2, mostly via the HR: Castellanos, Harper (3R), Harper, TurnerBut it's still just the end of 6 (despite ~2:20 into things) and Nola is already out of the game (prematurely IMO) to a team that was down by four late yesterday and then didn't even need their half of the 9th to win it.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2023 Posted October 11, 2023 The Braves, who scored more runs than just about any team ever, have been held to 0, 5, and 2 thru 3 games and are lucky to have not already been run from the playoffs.Four of their seven runs came late in Game 2 to steal a late win 8-4
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Strider getting hit but so far scoreless thru 3 due in large part to another DP started by CF Michael Harris Braves bats still asleep as they're hitless against Ranger Suarez with a whole buncha weak contact.oe: until just now
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Acuna has been a non-entity in this series. So have several other Brave hitters but they're not the MVP favorite.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Castellanos removes Strider from the game
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 If I'm Atlanta, I think I'd have preferred Harris v (a suddenly wild) Alvarado rather than Td'A v Kimbrel

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2023 Posted October 12, 2023 Me thinks the Braves are going to regret not taking that run on the WP.Probably already are.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2023 Posted October 13, 2023 What's the kerfuffle around Arcia about?
