Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 With tonight's game already rained out, that hopefully moves the exciting planned festivities of to Saturday. This was to include the scheduled first-pitch toss from Daniel Murphy, famed Mets old-timer. But such things aren't guaranteed in this world, and in fact, the opener is to be played as Saturday's regularly scheduled game, with the closer being the rescheduled, so maybe Murph gets the nightcap. It all depends on availability, I imagine. What's more guaranteed is the tie-dye headband that the first X thousand patrons will get. Tie-dye headbands may not be your thing, but if you want to go as Jeff McNeil for Halloween, or maybe as Chris in the Morning from Northern Exposure, a free headband is a good thing to have lying around. And here's the exciting bit ... tickets are https://www.vividseats.com/new-york-mets-tickets-citi-field-9-30-2023--sports-mlb-baseball/production/4078881currently going for as little as $2 at Vividseats. I can't particularly vouch for Vividseats and I'm sure the fees will be a reaming, but that aside, hey, $2 is worth it just for the kicky headband, which may or may not look like this.[FIMG=550]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F6974QZXsAAgM-T.jpg[/FIMG]José Quintana is scheduled to take his last turn in the rotation against TBD.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 I'm going to be away the next couple days so tonight's rain out means I've seen my last NYM game until next April. This makes me sad.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 'Muffy Day' in the last-season-series IGT subject?Really, why?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 29, 2023 Author Posted September 29, 2023 Because, as noted, Daniel Murphy is (or was) scheduled to throw out the opening pitch.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 30, 2023 Author Posted September 30, 2023 Mets running out of Muffy charm in the ninth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 30, 2023 Author Posted September 30, 2023 I don't like relievers who don't hold runners.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 30, 2023 Author Posted September 30, 2023 But striking people out with the tying run on third and less than two outs is a virtue.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 And they win the damn thing. Too much drama but it's 2023.
