With tonight's game already rained out, that hopefully moves the exciting planned festivities of to Saturday. This was to include the scheduled first-pitch toss from Daniel Murphy, famed Mets old-timer. But such things aren't guaranteed in this world, and in fact, the opener is to be played as Saturday's regularly scheduled game, with the closer being the rescheduled, so maybe Murph gets the nightcap. It all depends on availability, I imagine.

What's more guaranteed is the tie-dye headband that the first X thousand patrons will get. Tie-dye headbands may not be your thing, but if you want to go as Jeff McNeil for Halloween, or maybe as Chris in the Morning from Northern Exposure, a free headband is a good thing to have lying around. And here's the exciting bit ... tickets are https://www.vividseats.com/new-york-mets-tickets-citi-field-9-30-2023--sports-mlb-baseball/production/4078881currently going for as little as $2 at Vividseats. I can't particularly vouch for Vividseats and I'm sure the fees will be a reaming, but that aside, hey, $2 is worth it just for the kicky headband, which may or may not look like this.

José Quintana is scheduled to take his last turn in the rotation against TBD.

I thought Quintana was pitching the opener but now see it's Megill.

Some stiff named TBD is going for the cheesesteak faces.
