It's practically Labor Day and so baseball's stretch run is approaching. And yet for the next nine games, the Mets will be playing teams that don't compete with them for a playoff spot because the baseball schedule went moronic. This is quite an unlikely outcome given that almost half the teams make the playoffs nowadays. Not that it matters as far as the Mets are going this season, I guess.
