ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 A win would connect a four game winning streak for the Metsies Mets need Senga to get to 100 pitches more like in the 6th inning rather than the 4thSnakes pitcher Tommy Henry is not an heir to the O Henry candy bar fortuneHe has however been effective of late allowing only four earned runs over his last three startsMaking the call that DJ Stewart gets the nod at DH tonight
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Ah the 9:40 PM EDT start, fuck you, spherical planet and time zones. Hopefully they jump out to an early lead and then I can go to bed.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Mets are dragging their feet a bit on posting the lineup.I wouldn't expect D.J. Stewart to start under any circumstances, as the 'Backs have lefty Tommy Henry on the hill.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Author Posted July 5, 2023 They should be playing now if they knew what was good for them and you need to get your ass back here right this minute

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 That's not a crazy thought. I was suspecting they were waiting for somebody to be cleared by the trainer.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I have a feeling that the Diamondback line up may not be a good match up for Senga. Senga seems at his best with free swingers that will chase bordrline pitches and his forkball. This helps to keep his pitch count down. A line up of patient , disciplined hitters (like the Diamondbacks) are very likely to run his pitch count up pretty quickly. I hope I am wrong.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Mets robbed by the umps and replay official, he was in there!
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I'm really not loving the return of the 2021 McNeil.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 The 2023 version of Senga is working for me.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 No Bally Sports on the DirecTV in the taproom!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Yes he did.Senga, meanwhile, has the fastball down the middle turning the 'Backs into deer in the headlights.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Senga retires Alek (and his droogs) to finish a scoreless 5th.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I'd stick with Canha here despite the RH reliever coming in.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 And Buck agrees ... but it doesn't work anyway.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 We're going to need several of those late innings runs again tonight.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I'm curious as to why Buck let Baty bat against a LHP in the 7th when he PH for him against a LHP with Mendick last week in the 6th.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Well, part of that is that he no longer has Mendick, and has no other righthanded bats available off the bench. If the Mets don't get a run here, we have a complete game from Senga ready to go into the books.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 That's right, it's an all LH bench which seems like bad roster management.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 The ghost of Rod Beck in for the save.
