Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 I couldn't think of a one-team 30/30 guy, and then shamefully discovered that David Wright would have been one of only ten possible correct answers.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 I have no idea how you guys keep this shit straight in your head. Between the two there are 18 answers up there, 17 unique ones as you both somehow came up with Lastings Milledge for PIT/WAS (I had no idea he played for either). Of those 17 I would have thought of maybe 4, then quickly punted.

Of those 17 I would have thought of maybe 4, then quickly punted. It helps to know guys like Rich Hill, Edwin Jackson, Matt Stairs, Bruce Chen, Octavio Dotel, Todd Zeile, etc. who played for 8-12 teams over the course of their careers. Those guys fill in a lot of gaps for those two-team overlays.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I know that those guys played for multiple teams, but could I name those teams? Oh, Hell no!Two or three each for most of them. Beyond that it would be just random guessing. And do you know when the name Joe Randa would pop into my head at all? ... about six years from next Tuesday. And even then I'd have no memory of which team(s) he played for.
cal sharpie Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I had Joe Randa on a fantasy team a ways back when he was on KC - he wasn't very good but he filled in adequately. Those guys just stay on my radar and I just remembered him on Pittsburgh after that. Yeah, a few key guys who played on many teams are important - also knowing where Hall of Famers played to get those stat slots.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 The word "blame" there is telling.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Is there another interpretation? I would think Zeile being gay and fastidious, having kids in showbiz, would be on our team. But you never know.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I didn't know he was fastidious!
