TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 The blue check, the plus-280 character take and "(football)" in his name makes me think much less of this guy's Mets thoughts.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2023 Author Posted June 19, 2023 Pub. Author didn't take you in?
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 There's a lot of published authors out there giving rapid-spray takes on Twitter. Especially about sports. This guy's blog is just rankings of different players in different sports without any explanation for the criteria of the rankings. His most recent Tweet is: "I believe this story [from a buddy of mine, thirdhand], and I believe his comment 100%." is how I assume most of Joe Rogan's thoughts begin.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2023 Author Posted June 19, 2023 Right, I was taking the piss outta that guy, anyway, I guess Buck didn't ruin Alvarez and Baty. Ron put a notion forward recently that mashing in AAA isn't all that as your often hitting against washed up guys etc
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 A buddy of mine told me that Greta Thurnberg told him that John Frascella (Football) has the very worst takes on the planet.I believe this story and I believe her comment 100%. I essentially agree with myself.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 25, 2023 Posted June 25, 2023 Did Showalter address that after the game?
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 Edgy MD wrote:Did Showalter address that after the game?Late answer here, but yes, he did. He said Robertson was going to pitch the 9th if we got there. And he also used an old west metaphor that the Mets shot all their bullets that day. Just maybe shot em in the wrong order (-me).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2023 Posted June 26, 2023 We've become intensely averse to warming up a guy more than once, or over a period that could pass beyond an inning's changeover. If Robertson was going to enter, the place to do it was after Walker lost all three guys he faced. But committed to using Robertson in the ninth, Showalter didn't have him ready for that spot.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Might be interesting, but there's not a lot he can do. He can cover the salaries of players being traded away but that's about it.I thought Uncle Steve learned his lesson last year when he got into Twitter fights with people.Maybe this is just a cleverly-disguised Chris Christie campaign event.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Is he allowed to purchase wins from other teams? The A's don't need the twenty wins that they have, and they would help the Mets a lot.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Author Posted June 27, 2023 Probably a state of the team address, which should not take long
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I'm guessing "votes of confidence" for Eppler and Showalter.Or maybe he's going to announce that the Mets will wear plaid uniforms on Thursday day games.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 He can do a ton of things if he's of a mind to.Most of things would likely have futile or worse outcomes, but his options are wide open.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 If he comes to the Mets, he can be 117 or 017 if he wants. He might as well add having the first-ever three-digit uniform number to his list of accomplishments.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 As far as the history of psychological warfare goes, that tweet was a hell of a move by Stroman.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Edgy MD wrote:As far as the history of psychological warfare goes, that tweet was a hell of a move by Stroman.Yes it was! Man, does Stroman hate the Mets!
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 He called Keith Hernandez a dinosaur and added three laughing-at-you emojis. He's foul.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Author Posted June 29, 2023 IIRC Stroman has previous with the guys in the booth, from when he was with the Mets
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 https://twitter.com/STR0/status/1674488221567164419I'm kinda with Keith. The Mets retired the damn number and it hasn't even been a year. Don't want to deal with stuff like this? Don't retire a bunch of numbers.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Stroman is the same numbskull who changed his number out of resect for Jose Reyes even though no one asked him to
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2023 Author Posted July 1, 2023 What else is Buck going to say I suppose
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Is Buck saying that we shouldn't doubt that they will fall further below .500?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 I think he's saying that no team should take them for granted and that no follower should doubt that they are a threat to win on any given night.
