Can you imagine this game without the speed up rules.

We might still be in the same situation, only it would be 11 PM EDT before we got there.

That third base-line camera shot looked like he didn't check.

Oh well...

If Francisco keeps on hitting, I might start to consider him for my #4.

Be patient, kid. Don't overswing. Let your talent emerge.

Pretty good game, despite the awful umping. Mark Cahna needs to get his head on straight, though.

Hopefully, we'll remember it as the day Álvarez came alive.

Guillorme over Escobar here. Tough call.

Was it really? Guillorme is terrible. That should have been EE's AB or Mauricio's.

Hmm, the gane I saw contained really bad pitching, zero clutch hitting, tons of soft outs, plus several plays in the field that could have been made but weren't.

And the bad umping probably helped us more than it hurt.

I don't know that many of us would have applauded had the .159-hitting Escobar (.120 lefthanded) been sent up.

I'm certain I wouldn't have supported Eric Chavez attempting to insert a player who isn't on the roster.

I sort of meant objectively. It had a lot of runs, a close finish, and could have turned on any number of close plays.

Calling the umping awful was certainly meant objectively. There's no doubt that Peterson was given a bunch of dubious strikes.

I would have because Escobar was more capable of getting a hit than Chavez. I'd have left Canha up over Guillorme, too, despite that DP because you know that Mark was focused on redemption. However, Buck (or Chavez if he made the move w/o Buck yelling from the tunnel) has a thing for Guillorme and it's hurting the team.

What is the forum history of the 'gigantic squid-like creature?'

I can't remember.

IIRC there was a news story concerning the discovery of, or maybe just speculation about the existence of, a giant squid-like creature living in the ocean deep somewhere.

Something about it must have amused us in some way because it led to a thread about inviting the GSLC to swim in the 'pool, about 'inking' him to a contract, and other such

silliness. That soon led to a GSLC identity being created (Willets, I believe, was the power behind that throne) and the large mollusk was made administrator over something

or other.

Like other past members, the GSLC hasn't been seen in some time.
