Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 That just hurt all parts of my body.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Why was McNeil on the infield grass instead of running for 3rd. I'm confused.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 He didn't run because he assumed an out.He was standing on the grass, because after the ball dropped, he was explicitly called out on a force at third.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Geesh. After a day like today if I'm the Mets I'm gonna want to go hide away in Pittsburgh.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Shmoot.Even Canha first-pitch swinging in the ninth down six.
Marshmallowmilkshake Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 So far the easy part of the schedule ain't that easy.I'm more worried about lack of offense than the pitching. Hi
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 The offense really struggled and failed to score against a pitching staff that has been roughed up most of the year. If Scherzer's ailment to his left side turns out to be significant then I am worried about the pitching as well. While the Mets lost this series against the last place Nationals, the Braves are currently putting the finishing touches on a 3 game sweep of the Marlins. The Braves lead 4-0 going into the 8th.

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 How they can win 2 out of 3 from the best team in baseball and then lose 2 out of 3 to the worst team in baseball is mystifying.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 I half expected a letdown, and I'm kind of disappointed that Buck didn't find some time off for the first four guys in his lineup.

In the meantime we have an early bird special today at 12:35. Los Bravos are idle.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 This is a taste of 2023 as the Mets have an off-day next Labor Day (and Memorial Day, too),
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2022 Posted September 5, 2022 This was not a good game to attend for my first Mets game in 3 years.
