Scherzer came out with "fatigue to his left side" as per Gary. Whatever that means. They are theorizing that it relates to his high pitch count on his last start prior to tonight.

Medina won't be with them tomorrow when Carrasco returns. Perhaps Williams would have been a better choice but Buck didn't have a lot of options.

Montes de Oca and Scherzer both pitched for Mizzou!

Corbin's ERA DROPPED to 6.16!!!

How bad has the hitting been lately?

The DH spot has been unproductive.

Is it Venitos time yet?

Why does it seem that whenever DeGrom or Scherzer takes the mound, the offense seems to basically take the night off?

Medina was apparently throwing batting practice. Why is Buck using the unproven AAA relievers instead of getting an inning or two from Trevor Williams? The only thing i can think of is he doesn't expect Carrasco to go very deep in tomorrows game so he was saving Williams to back him up tomorrow.

I'd like to know what "left side fatigue" means.

Let side - where?

Is it his landing leg?

Is it his non-throwing arm?

Is is the left side of his torso?

In the post game presser, Buck said it may be because he threw so many pitches in his last start.

There are things on the left side that would impede his delivery and others that shouldn't.

Inquiring minds want to know if this is going to be a sword of Damocles that hangs over thee rest of the season.

Dumbed down (solely by me here) is he shut himself down knowing he

wasn't firing-on-all-eight last night and was looking forward to the next

time and bigger things that are coming in the fall.

(I may be irrationally rationalizing, but I do that)

Hope you're right.

But I'm a half empty glass kind of guy, and the wording troubled me.

I think this is probably a pretty solid understanding. One thing that's been gleaned about Buck's philosophy from his feedback is that he focuses more on winning the series than the game, and so saves his bullets for the most ideal situation.

I don't necessarily agree with that, and I certainly don't agree with last night's outcome, but the team's record in series certainly represents him well enough. The offense's failure to make any late statements makes it a more general philosophical subject than one specific to this game. Losing 2-1 or losing 10-1 amounted to the same.
