It's been so long since we won a game following an IGT that I started (I'm think maybe 2015 but there may be one or two more recent ones that I'm failing

to recall) that I almost forgot it was my job to do so for Game 2 tonight.



Good to see that the Mad Max franchise is now branching out to include sports contests (because there's already too much originality coming out of Hollywood)

Max Fried [10-3; 2.58 ERA, 1.073 WHIP; 122 K; 21 starts] vs Max Scherzer [7-2; 2.13 ERA; 0.925 WHIP; 109 K; 14 starts]



7:10 PM EDT, or whenever they can herd all the first game peeps out of there (including the ones hiding under seats trying to invent their own 2-fer-1 deal)

and get the new crew in.

Also, while I'm thinking of it, as I do for every WPIX game, fuck the WPIX games. Took me ten minute of clicking on super dubious links just to find a pirate stream of this one.

Great, heads up play by Guillorme. It would never have been possible if d"Arnaut would have broke hard as soon as he saw the ball was on the ground. Better baserunning by d'Arnaud and Guillorme would have had to take the easy out at first since Harris was stealing second.



Still, Guillorme had the presence of mind to make a risky, phenomenal, play.

The best part was him reading the whole thing perfectly.

He instantly realized he couldn't go for two, then quickly read TdA's bad break, all the time knowing that he had the bail out option at 1B. But what he didn't do was commit to going home ahead of time.

Wow, the Mets get the call on the review. Even on the replay, I'm not sure Pete ever touched the plate (it was very close). Great effort by both Riley and d'Arnaud, but it' an insurance run to the Mets.

Suxx to leave several potential runs out there ... but we didn't hit a single ball well that whole inning so we kinda were lucky just to get the one R.

Scherzer is a warrior. What a brilliant performance in a crucial game.



Max throws a season high 108 pitches and records 11 strike outs.



Be interesting to see who Buck entrusts to finish this game.
