Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Other than it being an 8-1/2 inning game that took just under 3:30, it was a kinda fun afternoon.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 20, 2022 Author Posted June 20, 2022 David Peterson currently rocking an incomparable 3-1 / 3.18 line.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 20, 2022 Author Posted June 20, 2022 Strangely only nine games today and the one at Citi is the only one in the daylight.
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 I missed the whole thing working. Just looking at the GameDay pbp. Peterson created and escaped a whole lot of trouble and the Marlins are less WERRYSOME than I might have thought-' a bad fundy team like the Phillies.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 As mentioned up the thread somewhere, some of the trouble was Peterson's own fault but almost all of the Marlin hits you see listed were softies so it was part bad luck too.His main problem was that those hits plus the BBs/HBP (and the Escobar error) came mostly leading off innings. That he was able to dance out of every one of them (w/help in the 6th) made his performance better IMO than how the raw line reads.btw, that's the 11th shutout of the season, accounting for just shy of 1/4 of their wins (11 of 45)Add in the seven games allowing just 1 run and they're up to 35% ceding one run or fewer2019, just to get back to the previous season without 7 inning games, saw 12 shutouts all yearNot too bad for being without the #1 starter completely and at least 1/2 of the #2
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 I listened while I worked and then while I drove around after work hitting my errand stops. Good job on the radio call today by H&W.McNeil day to day with "tightness" of the ham. X-rays negative on J.D. Davis' pinky where he got plunkied. So those are both good outcomes considering how Metsish they could have gone down.

A lame Squirrel is useless, and J.D.'s hand could have been a replay of last year's woes. Sounds like we may lose them for a short time. Good thing we brought up Dom today, almost as if someone understood we'd need someone who can play (some of) their position.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Looks like Guillormepalooza for a bit. And I'm OK with that.Frickin' Braves beat the Giants though, so no ground gained.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2022 Author Posted June 21, 2022 The season has a sunset date, though, so merely winning when you're in first place means gaining ground, no matter what the other teams do.
