Asked and answered: I know that it likely doesn't matter but Megill isn't going to start for a while (July 20th) so why not send him down (on paper) and keep Geoff Hartlieb (today's 27th player) for tomorrow's bullpen game? I'll answer my question: because July 20th is the 10th day so if he went on the IL as of tomorrow he couldn't pitch until the 21st.
