Lay in your caffeine delivery system of choice for Thursday's 10:10 PM start from San Diego Thursday night, airing on conventional Met channels. Haunting the Petco Park mound will be Taijuan Walker for us, Yu Darvish for them.

I have a feeling this series is going to hurt.

They really played down to the level of a bad team the last day and a half. I'm hoping guys coming back and new guys coming in for guys who aren't coming back is keeping them from gelling.

Mason will hopefully outhit Maybin and Lee put together but he noticeably isn't covering as much ground as them.

Another sleepy, dusty, delta day.

Billy Landis McKinney threw the Padres off the Shea Bridge.

If Villar is out, the Mets need a 3B as JD isn't coming back for a while. I'd like to see Maz back but he's never played 3B. David Thompson is the 3B at Syracuse but they'd have to move someone off the 40-man. I guess it's Drury and Blankenhorn until Guillorme is ready.

I have my daughter's dance recital this evening, but hopefully I'll be in front of a TV by 10

The really sad part about this "joke" is that I've been waiting four seasons to use it.

First conceived of back in 2018, y'know what keeps you from using the line on June 3rd? Having a near fatal heart attack on June 2nd, that's what!

So you hold onto it until 2019 but the Mets were off that day.

No worries, I'll just use it in 2020 ... until a fuckin global pandemic knocks out baseball for not just 6/3 but the entire month of June.

It's a long time to hold on to an extremely mediocre reference, I know, but the longer it took the more determined I was to finally get a chance to cash it in.

You should have waited until the Mets had an away game in Choctaw Ridge on 6/3, or at least in Tupelo.

I admire your commitment to the bit.

I heard the song two days ago on "'60s on 6" and it was almost out of my head but it's back in full force now.

During the freak-out psychedelic Sgt Pepper Jimi Hendrix Experience 1967 Summer of Love, this countrified song was, by far, the biggest hit of the Summer.

And check this out....

That's a weird segue, Frank.

But what a great time that was when Frank and Ella were still huge and at the same time ,you could stare at the cover of Disraeli Gears 'till you went blind. What a generation gap!
