Obvious typo in your post, kcmets. You must have meant 1.80, probably 2.80 for deGrom's ERA.

Did you hear ESPN's crew last night opine that deGrom cannot possibly break Bob Gibson's 1.12 ERA mark? Seemed pretty lame to me--of course, it's unlikely that Jake won't Brake at some point during the season, but they were talking very disrespectfully of his abilities, seems to me. And you know that if he pulls it off, they're going to be all "I knew it all along!"

A holiday game that starts at 9:40 PM local time. That's not stupid or anything, I guess

I would have liked to see Peraza get a better jump there, but he would have been a dead duck on that throw.

And Pete picks it up. Very sweet.

Wait... not watching, but following idly on Gameday for the time being (while waiting for the young'un to finish her movie). It ended up being moot, thankfully, but was there any earthly reason why Peraza wasn't sent on a hit to the outfield with two outs?

It was a particularly hard hit single to right and Reddick came up gunning. Peraza would have been dead to rights had he been sent. It was a smart call.

Right around 50 pitches through the first four innings. He's cruising, boys. Settle in. I may need another cocktail here.

=bmfc1 post_id=66063 time=1622489354 user_id=73]This is all or part of ESPN's doing as ATL's home game within the same time zone doesn't start until 5:10 b/c they were on the road last night. The ramifications of a Sunday Night game linger and are indeed stupid.
