The Mets will now have 3 doubleheaders in one week, June 19, 21 and 25.

games back in the loss column before June 1st.

Double-headers used to be punishment, because they meant games compacted into the schedule, with pitchers having to return to action without having recovery time.



But now, every double-header means 22.2% fewer innings your staff needs to cover, and that advantage should at least somewhat ameliorate the downside.
